The "Asia" series consists both of acrylic and oil paintings. They are dated 1990 to 1995 and suggest a translucent or transparent surface. The work varies with plays of greens and blues, violets and purples, and gold and copper. Each work is set in a deep, white virginal canvas border, which catapults the images both backwards and forward. Due to the washes used in the body of the painted areas, the observer is most often drawn up and into the painting.
