The earliest body of work presented in this website, "Grids" dates from 1980 to 1985. These works are composed of acrylic on canvas and vary greatly in size. In these paintings, coloration is examined throughout the entire spectrum, excepting black, and rests on a gray ground. The hues are arranged in ascending or descending intensity. Many of these paintings are included in major corporations and private collections. They are extremely graphic in conception and are related to works that were commissioned at the time.
